Water in Pamplona Alta

Then the next year we needed to create a project. We need to find a problem and try to have a sustainable solution. So in groups we went to find some problems in Peru. My group found out about this place in Peru called Pamplona Alta. In 2016 Pamplona Alta was the most poor place in Lima.

We research more and more about the topic and we found out that they didn’t have any running water. What they did was that a water truck comes and puts it on a deposits. Pamplona alta is a place that is located in hills. So for people needs to get potable water they need to go down so many and dangerous stairs. They get a bucket and fill it with water and need to go back upstairs.

Initially our ideas was to create a water filter so when it rain they can recollect water and used it. So we started to make sketches for the prototype of the filter and we realize that the materials needed we couldn’t afford it.

Then we realize that if we put some type of mechanism that prevents when mosquitos lay eggs in the water it doesn’t get contaminated. So we also starting to make sketches for it but when we look for materials it also cost alot. So we decided to find one and at least but one. We found some nets so we decided to do a bake sale to win money and that to use it. Later we realize that we were going to lose money that win it.  In the end we realize that the best option was to make a presentation to spread awareness about the issue. Which we did and more people got informed and some even got interested about our topic. Although it was not planned to end that way we at least made realize others that this problem existed and that we need to do something about it.
