Paintball

In March of 2020, before a global pandemic attacked Peru, I was trying out a new activity.  I was trying for the first time to play Paintball with some friends. In this activity, I got the CAS Learning Outcome number five, which is Demonstrates the skills & recognizes the benefits of working collaboratively. Before doing this activity, I was never that type of person like to be in sports that had teams but instead in personals sport like Taekwondo. However, this was a team sport, which meant that we all had to work together to win. We all planned together some strategies; the team was five vs. five, and it was just with friends. First, I started by going solo as if I was Rambo, which I clearly was not because it was my first time doing it. However, as the game continues, we started to communicate to understand what we were doing finally. In that way, we actually understand what will be our next moves to win the game. This is why this taught me the essential benefits of working collaboratively. Another CAS Learning Outcome I have with this activity is number seven: recognize & consider ethics choices and actions. Like in any other game, Paintball is a game that one must be honest; we never know for sure if someone gets shot; that is why one must be honest with what happened and not lie just to make our team win. Also, we must be careful with our guns because if we are pretty close to each other, we can hurt someone, which is not the point on why we are playing.  That is why if I got shot, then I always told the truth and always be very careful with my friends while playing. That is why recognize & consider ethics choices and actions is a CAS Learning Outcome I learned with Paintball.
