SBG

Working for the People

I was elected as the president of the Junior class of 2021. It was one of my great honors. I worked for a whole year trying to make school a safer, happier, and vigorous for a whole year as one of my duties as president is to help the highschool SBG to accomplish those things that are why they planned activities to make high schoolers' life better. There are so many memories like organizing the selling candies for Halloween or giving free candy for Christmas; we tried a lot to make our people have a good time. I had to show much commitment, which is why one of the CAS Learning Outcomes I learned is number four: Show commitment to & perseverance in CAS experience. For example, at Halloween, you can see me on my computer organizing which student we give those candy bars. I stayed for hours in Ms. Podesta's room to help organize those bags. For Christmas, I dressed up as Santa to help to give away the candy. This showed once again my commitment to the SBG and not only that but to the people that chose to put me in that position, which shows how I show commitment to & perseverance in the CAS experience.

On the other hand, the CAS learning Outcome number five: Demonstrate the skills & recognize the benefits of working collaboratively, is shown in this CAS experience. I had to work with the other members of the SBG to work together to make these incredible things like planning the assembly or distributing on who was collecting the money for the candy. I had to work hard with them to make this successful thing work. That is why I always communicate with them about my opinions or always ask what I can help; that is why I MC on the community day.  After seeing who wanted to go and who didn't, I saw that when some people in your team have areas of growth that are your strengths, you go to help, so one of my main reasons for MC the community day. This shows how I demonstrate the skills & recognize the benefits of working collaboratively, shown in this CAS experience.
